Welcome to Intentional Homeschool

Welcome to Intentional Homeschool!

It is finally here! After launching Intentional Toddler Time at our sister site, Intentional By Grace, we were overwhelmed with the response to this new feature. So overwhelmed we knew we needed a separate site altogether to keep up with the questions, as well as record our journey toward growing our little ones for the glory of God!

The mission of Intentional Homeschool is to encourage mothers to cultivate a love for learning and exploring within the hearts of their children from birth to adulthood. Learning does not begin when we send our children off to school or buy their first curriculum for homeschooling. The opportunity to guide, educate, inspire, encourage, and exhort our children, in not only normal development but in the ways of the Lord, begins the second they enter this world. We believe children are far more capable of grasping the concepts of the Bible far sooner than we give them credit for.

At Intentional Homeschool, it is our desire to provide refreshment for the soul partnered with practical tips and resources to make your homeschool a place where it is impossible to not think about God.

Not Just for Homeschoolers

We want to encourage you to see your home as a place of learning no matter your views on how to “formally educate” your children. We believe this site will be applicable to those planning to homeschool, as well as those planning to send their children to public school. We believe Intentional Homeschool is applicable because, as parents, we are commanded by God to instruct our children. We want to encourage you to intentionally pursue the hearts of your children, instructing them in the way they should go, no matter how you choose to educate formally.

How Will Intentional Homeschool Encourage Me?

We will do this by sharing our lives and passions alongside Biblical truths from God’s Word. We come to you not as experts. We aren’t even trained in child development or education. Leigh Ann has a B.S. in Business Management, and Nikki has a B.S. in Accountancy. But we are two moms who believe when God’s gives a vision, He will give provision. You don’t have to have it all figured out to start your homeschool journey. Therefore, we will walk with you through the waters of Intentional Homeschool. This blog will be a reflection, and a documentation, of our journey to growing our children for the glory of God.

How is Intentional Homeschool Set Up?

Intentional Homeschool is made up of three main categories: Devote, Develop, Demonstrate. The categories will evolve with the life stages of Nikki and Leigh Ann.

Devote: We encourage mothers to be devoted to God and His plan for their homeschool. We will provide inspiration for getting organized, the importance of serving together, as well as provide grace for moms. This is the section you will find the encouragement you need to “keep on keepin’ on.” It is also where we will encourage you to daily seek the Lord and His will for the education of your children.

Develop: We address the age and stage of children. We encourage them where they are and strengthen them for where they are going – Biblically and educationally. We will provide information on how to teach the Bible to your children, as well as ideas for day-to-day activities that focus on intentionally pursuing the hearts of our children from birth and on.

Demonstrate: This is the application of devoting and developing our children. This encompasses curriculum, printables, video how-to’s and and any other fun stuff we come up with! We will do the best we can to provide you with a variety of resources and learning tools we use in our own homes, as well as what we have heard from other family’s as being useful in their efforts to grow their little ones for the glory of God.
