We started our co-op and the following week we had our first meeting. Each meeting is fresh and fun, as we are learning what exactly goes into the co-op and how each of our children learn!
Our first meeting was at Ms. Jessica’s house. Since this was the first time with all of the kids in one area, it was a bit chaotic! There was a lot of playing, running around and the kids were all very distracted. Let’s say it was like herding cats!
That didn’t stop the Mommies! Since it was at Jessica’s house, she made all of the arrangements. She printed out printables (consumable activities for all different ages), prepared a craft and read a story (the children were coloring during the story – the very little children were just playing!).
What did we read? The Polar Express. The book we read sets the theme/tone for the meeting.
What were our printables? Lots!! There were a wide array of printables that included writing activities for the 4 and 5 year old, matching and puzzles for the smaller children (3, 2 and 2) and math/writing for the oldest.
What was our craft? Graham cracker trains! The kids (well, mine at least!) ate more than they decorated, but it was a special treat! The big kids made the train, the little kids (both 2, Matthew isn’t pictured – where did he run off to!) made the trains flat on a plate.
Any special event or activities? It was Ms. Dee’s birthday as well as Lily’s (she turned 5!) so we had cupcakes and a dairy-free ice cream sandwich for Karli (Thanks Dee!). We all dined together (we each bring our own bagged lunches). The kids get to eat out of a lunch box (or bag) just as though they were going to school!
Christmas may be over, but it is never too late to save ideas for next year! What was a Christmas craft you did with your kids?

[...] Week 1 was such a blast that we could barely wait for week 2! Week 2 was hosted by Ms. Dee. It was just a chaotic as week 1 because this was another “new place.” As we continue to cycle through each house, we find it gets a bit easier as they are more used to the house and the toys which lie within!
