Pregnancy update: I am 21 weeks today!

Well today I am 21 weeks pregnant! Things are great around here! As you know, I didn’t give you a 20 week update. I wanted to celebrate the “halfway” marker, but the girls were sick, we were tired from travel, and I just couldn’t get it together! But now, a week later, we are back on track! Here is my belly at 21 weeks!

Pregnancy and Toddlerhood

We have had such a fun time this past week! Karli is speaking more than ever and really interacting with me and trying to help more! Here is her most very favorite task:

I think this is truly God’s grace! I really can’t lean over to unload without hurting my back. So she hands me everything from the bottom shelf (of course, I take the knives out first!).

Karli also woke up, headed downstairs asking for cereal and then RAN over to the family room and yelled: TRIANGLE!!! This is what she found:

That my friend, is homeschooling :)

We took this past week off from our All About Learning Pre-Reading program and will pick back up next week when we start our official Preschool time with Shelby! I will be sharing about this on a regular basis (hopefully weekly, but you know I am balancing pregnancy and toddlerhood, so we will see!) You can look for posts called “Intentional Preschool” for our preschool updates!

Here are some of our favorite activities to do in preparation for preschool (transitioning from toddler time to preschool can be tricky, but so far Shelby is really thriving!)

ABC Find It from 1+1+1=1. I printed these out, laminated them and buried them in rice. Huge hit!
We also love our Goodnight Moon printables and made our preschool boxes with them (and lots of fine motor activities). I will share more about these in our first Intentional Preschool post! (Please note, we are currently renovating our basement so our homeschool room is sharing space with our guest room and my office and any other furniture items that would be in the basement! We are making due!)

Goodnight Mood Boxes

And last but of course not least for this week’s update: Shelby dressed herself today! Yes, I told her to go into her room and get dressed. This is usually followed by “Mommy, can you please help me get dressed?” and then I pick out her clothes. She puts on her pants and I put on her shirt. Until today.

She said ok. She left and came back 5 minutes later.

Shelby Dressed Herself

There was that part of me that wanted to say, “It is 20 degrees outside. You can’t wear a skirt.” Or “The skirt is pink silly goose! We should find a pink shirt!”

But all that I could muster was “YOU DID IT!!!! YOU GOT YOURSELF DRESSED!!!”

And she was so thrilled. She also got Lambie dressed in a diaper. :)

What’s coming up?

Nothing too exciting this week! No doctor’s appointments, no trips…just our crazy beautiful life!

Can your littles get themselves dressed? At what age did they start dressing themselves?
